I took ENGL 3410 which is a screenwriting course that taught me a lot of important lessons. I had originally picked it as an elective but through this course I found a passion for screenwriting. We were asked to write a short exerpt about a person who encountered a situation that changed their view of someone or something. This course challenged me in many ways as it forced me to come out of my comfort zone of writing what I want. Instead I had to write to fit a certain perspective.
This task was my first time ever writing a screen play and I was able to learn the difference between just writing a story and writing something that could be acted out. Trying to ensure each character I brought to life was believable and portrayed the image I had in my head was a hard task that developed into a newfound passion.
